Move the Body Quiet the Mind

Discover Tai Chi Qigong Mind Body Movement

  • Welcome

Welcome to Mind Body Movement with Christine, connecting the mind to the body through tai chi, qigong and mindfulness.

Explore the concepts of ease, stillness, purpose and the deep awareness of mind and body. Tai chi and qigong are low impact movements which can improve physical health, balance, coordination and flexibility, all while providing stress reduction and mindful relaxation to your being. Based in ancient Chinese healing arts, tai chi, qigong and mindfulness can be performed at any age and ability, making it an ideal exercise for every stage of life.

My style and choices come from over 20 years of study and training in Tai Chi, Qigong, mindfulness and movement physiology.  I created the Tai Chi Qigong Mind Body Movement program with the intention of it being easy to follow, whether you have previous experience or completely new.

Offering weekly classes, special events and meaningful workshops.

  • Qigong for Summer

Summer arrives with open hands. The days stretch long. The earth is abundant. Life moves outward. This is the season of fullness. What was planted in earlier months now begins to bloom, ripen, and reveal itself.  Summer invites us to be seen.  Not through performance and loudness, but through the natural expression of what has been growing within. The spirit of summer carries warmth, movement, creativity, connection.  A reminder that life is meant to be lived, not just  managed.  Yet this season can tempt us into excess, too much giving, too much outward focus.  Doing too much we can lose the connection to our own rhythm.

In TCM Summer’s fullness is represented by the upward movement of Yang Qi, the element of Fire and the Heart Meridian.  The Vermillion Bird of Peace reminds us to open ourselves and to live in our fullness.  It is about controlled expression without over extending. The emotions of  Joy Ease Peace  vs  Agitation Anxiety Hyperactivity.

This is a time to notice what nourishes us, what stores our energy, what helps us stay rooted as life becomes fuller.
