Qigong for Autumn
As the leaves fall and seasons change, a reminder of the beauty in letting go and embracing the flow of life, in acceptance of all that is. Autumn in Traditional Chinese Medicine relates to the Metal Element and a change to Yin energy. The Metal Element represents a quiet strength in mountains, rocks, minerals and gemstones. Lung and Large Intestine Meridians encourage us to bring in new (inhale) and let go of what we no longer need (exhale). Like the trees who draw inward and expel the leaves they no longer need. White is the color of the Autumn, a representation of pausing or emptiness. The sacred White Tiger is the animal Spirit, rare and strong, our protector as we move through this season.
Autumn invites us to go inward, to organize and prepare for Winter’s stillness. An offering in slowing down, to feel sadness and grief, to see with clarity and to discover the courage for it all. We do this both physically and emotionally, setting ourselves for successful transition of seasons.
